The Best Root Beer BBQ Slow Cooker

I tested and tried this recipe so many times that I have a secret ingredient. You can do this with chicken, pork ribs whatever you like. It is a great BBQ flavor. We are big fans of root beer since we don’t drink. Anytime I make this with root beer soda it doesn’t leave enough root beer flavor in the meet. The soda is really use mainly as a tenderizer in most recipes but I LOVE ROOT BEER. Have you ever had a root beer stuffed snow ball in New Orleans omg its to die for!! Anyway, I really wanted more root beer flavor so I now have root beer extract on hand. I don’t see it in stores any more so I ordered mine of amazon. If you are a fan of root beer this recipe is for you!

2.5-3 lbs of chuck roast

1 tsp of liquid smoke

2 tbps of root beer extract

1 cup of BBQ sauce (my fav is Sweet Baby Rays no one is going to top that for me)

1 onion chopped

1 pack of your favorite buns

Extra BBQ Sauce- Root Beer bbq sauce- add a tbsp of extract to a cup of your favorite bbq sauce for a root beer bbq flavor.

Place roast, liquid smoke, extract, and onion ingredients in the slow cooker. Place on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours. It is ready when the meat shreds. Cook at least to 160 degrees. Add extra BBQ sauce to your meat once its done. Eat it alone or get your favorite buns and enjoy!! I usually add onion straws and bbq sauce. I added dairy free Violife feta to my daughters. You can load it up with cole-slaw, bacon and your favorite sandwich ingredients.

A side of Mexican street corn, fries, and dairy free root beer floats for dessert. Sounds amazing!! I can’t wait for dinner.

This picky eater even enjoyed it!!
