HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

Since it’s Halloween, I’d thought I would celebrate with the infamous PRP Vampire Facial.

The vampire facial was made famous by Kim Kardashian’s bloody selfie. PRP has been very popular and used for many rejuvenating procedures. My dad loved his knee injections. He said it helped alleviate pain and improved mobility.

When it first came out years ago I remember all the surgical nurses talking about PRP. Most talk was about the improved down time from surgery. If a nurse is talking about it, it’s probably really good. Nurses work hands on, and closely to patients getting new treatments. They will see trends in patients and know if it works or not. *However, with all treatments always consult a Dr.

In the simplest of terms this is how it goes: they take some of your blood, spin it really fast so the good stuff (platelets) is separated from the blood, platelets increase healing and regeneration. They then numb your face. I asked if I could do it without numbing and they definitely recommended numbing cream. Lastly tiny needles and inject into the surface of you skin with the platelets. This in return helps improve you skin. My aesthetician said it improves collagen production, circulation, dark spots and minimizes pores.

The start:

My IV therapist draws a little blood for the PRP. He set it to spin. He applies numbing cream, and I sit for about 20mins for it to kick in. Side note, I went to Liquivida Lounge in Boca Raton. They are accommodating and the staff are lovely. Jordan is my aesthetician. He has been apart of this industry for 15 years, he knows his stuff and is licensed.

My face is starting to feel cool and tingly. Kinda how you feel a week or so after Botox, when you move your face it’s kinda tight.

Ok down to the nitty gritty of Vampire Facials. I have been through IVF and lots of needles. I get Botox without numbing. I have a high threshold for pain. Everywhere I read, and staff, warned it maybe uncomfortable. I really didn’t feel anything during the micro-needling. It was sensitive around my crows feet and corners of my eyes. A little less pinch once or twice around my upper lip. Other than that, no biggie. A few minutes after my face felt flush, warm, and then burning, just like a really bad sunburn. Jordan gave me post procedure instructions and off I went.

After, I was red and still felt numb. I went shopping even though my face was very red with dried blood. No shame in my game. People will stare, so if you can’t deal, stay at home. I mean you do have dried blood on your face. Great for Halloween I guess?! I also had to pick up my daughter from school. I defiantly got some stares.

By the time I drove home the burning sensation died down. I did have a little headache so I took some ibuprofen. Whether it was the tension from my first time or the actual procedure, my face and head ached. Also note, if you are still numb do not try to drink anything without a straw. I drooled iced coffee from the sides of my mouth.

An hour or so later, the numbing cream wore off and my face was pulsating and throbbing. I was not comfortable. You can really feel the burn. Tolerable, but you feel the hit of tons of tiny needles. I would make sure you have nothing crazy to do the day you get it. The feeling in your face takes your energy. The rest of my day, I thought about my burning face. I was not much fun.

Not a horrible experience, no pain no gain right?!! I will post pics in a few days and in a few weeks to show the results. I also got Botox about 2.5 weeks ago. My photos are the before of all these procedures.

I was finished at 11am, so at 6pm, it was time to wash with cold water. After I added PRP(yellow) like a serum, and once dry added another mask(green phylo) that was given to me for tonight’s routine. I do notice my face is much tighter and shiny but I feel that’s just the start of healing. The real results won’t be for a while.

All I can say is my face was throbbing! My hubby asked if it was worth it? And would I go back? I won’t know until my face heals but the pain makes me question whether its worth it. I’m a Botox girl, no real pain, and done. This whole process is a little much. I probably wouldn’t do well with major plastic surgery. I could not wait to go to bed my face hurt so much.

DAY 1: so painful, that forehead is super shinny and tight though.

DAY 2: no pain, face feels dry and tight
